Well, it has been a little while since I last posted.  I started a new full-time job and I just haven't had the time to put together a blog post.  Hopefully, I will get myself better organized soon, both my stuff and my time, so I can get back to regular posting. I had my first workshop last Sunday and the attendance was great.  We had lots of fun making cards and I think a couple of the ladies were really interested in getting involved with this hobby.

I Had a Blast!

Happy Monday everyone,

Yesterday I had the opportunity to attend the A Muse on the Road event in Rosemont, IL.  I got to meet the other members of my team as well as other A Muse creative consultants from the Illinois/Wisconsin area.  The highlight of the day was meeting the CEO, Linda Hartwick and her cute daughter, Hailey.  Here's a picture of Linda and me:

We made some really cool cards and a treat box using A Muse products.  I must say, the more I use these products, the more I love them.

If you would like to purchase the products used to make these cards, click the email link on the right side of my blog and I will let you know what you need.  Thanks for stopping by and make it a great day.

It's the Weekend!

I hope you have some happy, scrappy plans for the weekend.  I'm going to my monthly crop this evening and it's really special because one of my scrapping friends is celebrating her birthday tonight so it should be a lot of fun.  Tomorrow is On the Road with Amuse and I am really looking forward to meeting the owners of the company and other A Muse consultants.  I'm also looking forward to the classes.  I'm having my Grand Opening Workshop on Sunday, September 18th at 3:00 and I would love it if you would all stop in and see what A Muse has to offer and wish me well.

The weather has really begun to turn and I am glad.  While summer is fun, I don't like real hot weather.  Fall is my favorite time of year with just a bit of crispness in the air and the beautiful fall colors.  There is the feeling of new beginnings in the air.  Could having an October birthday have something to do with that?  At any rate, that is the inspiration for today's card.

It is a clean and simple card using a stamp from the Beautiful Botanicals 2 stamp set.  I stamped the card base in Versamark and because I didn't clean my stamp well before stamping, it has a faint bit of color.  The same stamp is used for the main image and it is stamped in Pumpkin with a bit of Fern and French Roast daubered (is that a word?) on the edges of the leaves.  It is matted on a piece of French Roast cardstock.  The sentiment is from the Friend to Friend stamp set.  All products are from A Muse Studio.  Well, thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a restful but enjoyable weekend.  Until next time, keep on crafting.

You're One of My Nicest Thoughts

I hope you all had a great holiday weekend.  We (well, I) did a lot of relaxing and we went to my daughter's for BBQ on Sunday.  Ah, the joys of having adult children.  I haven't hosted a holiday cookout in quite a while--love it!  Anyway, I have a card to share with you today.   It was made using all A Muse products from my starter kit.  I think it turned out kinda cute.  I must say that it was inspired by some of the cards I saw in the A Muse consultant's gallery so if this card is similar to one of yours, thanks for the inspiration.

Don't forget this coming Sunday is "On the Road with A Muse" in Rosemont, IL.  For more information, click the link on the right.  It is going to be so much fun!  The founder of the company will be there and we will learn new techniques, have some hands-on activities, and I believe there will be some freebies.

Until the next time, keep on crafting!

40 and Fabulous

Happy Friday everyone.  I want to share a birthday card with you that I made for a scrappy friends birthday.  She turned 40 and her husband gave her a beautiful surprise party and boy was she surprised.  I don't think I've ever seen anyone cry so much out of happiness.  Anyway, this card was made using the Forever Young Cricut cartridge.  I thought I would try my hand at making a pop-up card.  It was really easy and I think I'll make these more often.  I cut the lady at 4.5 inches and "fabulous" at .88.  The red cardstock is from Papertrey Ink, the black cardstock and patterned papers are from the DCWV La Creme stacks, pearls are from my stash, ribbon is seam binding from Hug Snug and I crinkled it with water.  I glimmer misted the card front to give it a little sparkle.  I hope you like it.

Have a safe holiday weekend and keep on crafting.

You are Amazing

I finally had some time to play with my new products from my starter kit.  This is an A2 size card and here's what I used:

Cardstock:  sugar, buttercup
Ribbon: 5/8" white grosgrain
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black,  papaya (for inking)
Stamps: Elegant Elements, Clever Girls
Embellishments: Pretty Pearls in Ivory
Die cuts: Nestabilities, Labels Two and Four

I really like how the A Muse cardstock is white on one side which is great for cards.  I did a little embossing, sanding, punching, inking, die cutting, and added a couple of pearls.  Hmm, a good number of techniques on this little card.  I hope you like it.

Supplies are all A Muse except: ribbon (from my stash); embossing folder (cuttlebug); edge punch (EK Success).
